Long ago, I was a late-night DJ on an FM station whose program director understood that the listeners at night were not the same as those in the day. He allowed me to ignore the successful daytime format and gave me the keys and free access to the almost-always locked downstairs record vault because I had shown skill in putting together music sets.

In the Court of the Crimson King was one of the albums that stayed upstairs in the studio. I did and do love that album.

King Crimson was pretty far beyond its own time.
