I am of the age when I recall many of the items we now long for and call “old school.” Typewriters are one of them. Roll-top desks another. Fountain pens a third.

What items, what technology are we using and developing now that will be “old school” 50 years in the future? I even wonder if there will be any; nowadays, we ‘create’ things then ‘update’ them. Nothing seems to be permanent anymore. Things like typewriters, roll-top desks, and fountain pens, all of which are still available for purchase, but at a huge cost.

I’m a retired fed making what remains of my life meaningful. I try to answer the question, “To be a writer or to write?” Follow me; I won’t hurt you. Honest.
